1968 CHEVROLET 427 CORVETTE 427 4 SPEED CLASSIC VINTAGE. Well I'm sure no expert on Corvettes, but I will try my best to accurately describe this car. This car is exactly how I got it. It is what I call a "Barn Fresh," because it was sitting in an old dirt floor garage for the last 10 years. The information is just how I got it from the previous owner. Please see my photos and judge for yourself. He said that this car is a factory 390 H.P. 427 4 speed car. The engine blew up sometime back, and he put a non matching 427 v-8 back into it. I believe this is true but I can not verify it as I have no documentation. First I will list the minuses as I see them. This car is filthy dirty and needs cosmetic, and detail work. The door panels are in the back and not installed. The console is not complete either and the upholstry is pretty old and ugly. The body has a blemish on the drivers side fender but nothing to serious. I have half of the front grill and it needs the other half. Now here are a few plusses. The car was a running and driving when put away. Although this Corvette does not have the correct engine, it has a fresh 427 cubic inch, non original / non matching engine. It was completely rebuilt and only has 3,000 miles on it. It is very powerful, and was done right. The 4 speed, clutch, rear end, etc, are excellent. The 71,000 miles are actual. Although this car won't win any beauty contests, it could be a nice restoration project, or made into a neat street rod. This Corvette may be a challenge to restore, but one good thing is, it won't be requiring much in the drive train department. I have a clear Colorado title for it. I do not have a key, but I do have a nice factory type assembly manual. I can not ship but will gladly assist in anyway I can with your pick up. I only want the buyer of this Corvette to be as happy as I was, when I found it sitting in that garage. 71,250 miles. March 2, 2010. |
